She's had it on for 24 hours now, and it hasn't shifted around or gotten out of place - so far. I think it will hold just fine and is ideal for my use. And, I don't think I had it on correctly after seeing a photo here of another pup wearing one. It doesn't come with instructions, but the photo here from a commenter called of a white dog shows how it should go on.My girl is old and doesn't run around or play, so I can't say how well it will hold up on an active dog. I think it will be just fine though. As far as getting out of it or tearing/chewing it up, I'm sure a determined dog could, like anything else. Few things are actually dog proof, so I'm lucky that my pup isn't bothered by things I put on her - but, she is a golden so that's not too surprising.Anyway, I definitely recommend it, depending on what your particular needs are.

Worked great for a hot spot!
Our 75lb pitty kept licking a wound on his leg and nothing worked to get him to stop. We didn’t want to use a cone, so we tried this. It’s perfect! We got a large and it fits nicely. Very easy to put on and I loved that the sleeve was long enough to cover his entire leg to the toes!

My 72 lb Lab had to have a dew claw toe amputated on her front paw due to a tumor. While she's generally very good about not chewing at hotspots, incisions, etc., this was a major incision/wound, will take weeks to heal, and will be in a spot that, when she lays down, is right in her face - very tempting to lick. And, being such a large dog, we couldn't exactly carry her everywhere, especially outside to "go", so we needed something that would protect and be flexible, and easily cleaned, yet stay in place and be so comfortable she wouldn't try to remove it. THIS WAS PERFECT!
I ordered the Large size, and it fit well, using all but the very 1st set of snaps. It went all the way down her leg comfortably to her front toes, and the cuff was snug, but not too much - just enough to keep it from working upwards as she wore it. I actually rolled it back, to allow her to have traction on our hardwood floors and to keep it clean when she went out. It's soft, but the fabric is sturdy, heavy weight jersey with a bit of stretch, similar to athletic & children's clothes. She didn't seem to get too warm while wearing it indoors, and it dried quickly whenever it got wet (well, soaked!) from licking or from going outside early in the morning as the frost on the grass melted. It wasn't tight fitting at all, so it allowed air circulation, and the fabric has a smooth, tight weave so it didn't stick to the wound.
It was a god send for us. Our dog had an unusual reaction post-op, she has extremely small veins, and the slightest pressure or constriction around her leg, even from a loose bandage will cause extreme swelling. It became so bad that we had to keep it unbandaged most of the time, and someone had to be with her constantly for the first 72 hours to hold a very loose, light bandage over it so it stayed protected from dirt, hair, carpet fibers, etc. and to check, remove & change the bandage every few hours when she slept. And, she clearly was uncomfortable, as despite our efforts,

After surgery our pup would not leave scar on her leg alone and created a hot spot. This was the perfect solution for keeping it covered long term to allow it to heal. No cumbersome cone and it did not keep her from going in and out of the dog door. Saved her leg and our sanity!

This kept our dog from licking at an injured area and seemed comfortable for her to wear for a week while it healed.

I've used a different product similar to this one to prevent my dog from licking hot spots on her left leg. She doesn't seem to lick them anywhere else but once they heal, she will eventually do it again without a sleeve over her leg. She never seems to be bothered that she can not lick another hot spot as long as she wears the sleeve. I bought two of the other brand and it was made of a lightweight cloth that was easy to tear and was held on by snaps. I've used those for a very long time. The snaps would often come loose when she rolled over while sleeping and the next day the sleeve was on the floor. This product has a very long area of Velcro that won't come loose easily and the material seemed less likely to tear. This product is even $8 cheaper than the other one. I am very satisfied so far. My dog (Boxer/Shepherd mix) is about 70 pounds with long legs and the X large was a good fit.

This is nearly perfect. It may be Augie's barrel chest making it fit oddly, but it's much tighter around her underarms than it is across her neck and shoulders. She's almost 30" around at her underarms, but her front legs are only 10" long from armpit to wrist, so I ordered both a medium and a large, thanks to free returns. I took the large out first and held it up near her and could tell right away it would be too big, so I folded it back up and put it back in the display envelope. It didn't touch her so I feel okay about returning it.
The medium was a slight struggle to get on because she went limp as a cooked noodle, as she always does when I put on her harness. She had a lump removed from her elbow area and has many sutures there, because there's very little flesh in that area and the incision had to be large enough to expose the whole lump, even though it wasn't huge. (Still waiting on biopsy but Dr said the lump came right off with no digging, had no tentacles and no blood vessels involved, so prognosis is promising.)
I wrapped some non-stick wound tape around her suture area before putting the sleeve on, since I could tell I'd have to tug on the sleeve a bit and didn't want the sutures to catch on it. Once I got the sleeve on, there was a lot of tugging and arranging and rearranging. Even after she walked around in it for a while, I adjusted the snaps and Velcro twice. So now I know that when she's out in the yard, I should keep it as tight as is comfortable for her, and when she's just hanging around indoors, loosen it a bit so she can lounge comfortably.
She's not a chewer -- I got this just to keep her from licking the sutures and so that she doesn't have to wear the Zen collar (which is better than the Cone of Shame but still not optimal). She's been sleeping soundly at night without the collar, next to me, thanks to a low dose of gabapentin, so I plan on removing the sleeve for sleep as well. Plus I want to check her sutures and let that area breathe,

This sleeve has been a life saver. I have been working on Marley’s hot spot for over a year nothing worked and it was a bloody mess. This sleeve is soft and comfortable. It is not overnight but it’s been a joy watching the results. Thank you so much

Worked perfectly. Our dog had surgery on his front leg and was miserable with his cone on. So glad we found this product. He is 65 pounds so the XL was a perfect fit. He does not try to lick or chew through the fabric so we have found this to be the perfect alternative to the cone of shame. Easy to take on and off. Would highly recommend.

It fits my dog perfectly and my dog does not try to get it off. My dog is a 12 pound Chihuahua and I ordered xs.
