This is the second dog treadmill I’ve owned. The first one was more of a walking pad with dog stickers on it, lol. This one is definitely made for a dog. Just starting to train her on the it. The video is her first time and she’s already getting the hang of it. Before long she will be running and getting the exercise she needs on rainy and cold days. She’s a high energy breed (GSP), so having an outlet like this is a lifesaver. I got a little stumped on the assembly because the track was harder than I thought it should be to tie together. I reached out to customer support through WhatsApp to make sure I had the right size track and they assured me I do and sent me a video on an alternative way to assemble the treadmill starting with attaching the track together first and building the rest of the treadmill around it. I had the issue fixed and fully assembled within the hour.

This Slatmill is awesome! I had it in my cart for months debating on if I should get it and I'm so glad I did! Assembly was quite difficult and definitely a 2-person job. It would have been easier if the different parts and screws were labeled, but we matched them up to the pictures. It is quieter than I imagined it would be. The hand-brake is so helpful! I love the all black, it's very sleek looking. It's sturdy but not too heavy - 2 adults could pick it up and move it fairly easily. One of the dogs took to it immediately and was so excited to run on it, when we ended the short session, she wanted to hop right back on and go again! This is perfect for Florida when it's too hot during the summer and too wet during the hurricane season to run the dogs and ensure our dogs are still properly exercised! *Note, we know she needs to be tethered back further but she is young and a bit sensitive to leash pressure so while she's gaining confidence on the mill, we are letting her have more slack in the line and move forward further for her reward.

The Treadmill is great for dog that have a lot of energy. My dog pulls in our walks, so I decided to get this treadmill to help calm him down. At first he was timid, but I used the dog harness handle to pull him back and he immediately got it. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR HIGH ENERGY BREEDS LIKE HUSKY, GERMAN SHEPHERD, PITBULLS. Especially if you can’t walk them all too much. Now The treadmill assembly is not as hard as everybody makes it out to be. It took me like two hours because I was taking my time. Word of advice take everything out of the box and lay them out. I use the instruction manual and the video from Amazon( x0.5 speed) to get this done smoothly. Like other reviews pointed out some of the parts are already assembled. Don’t screw everything tightly right away because it will make screwing in other parts difficult. Once you got one of the main parts assemble screw it tightly. Hardest part by far is the belt. You have to place the belt on the treadmill and place it on its side. It definitely helps having at least one person helping, but I found a life saving hack. The ends of the belt have to be screwed in to together. If you use one of those L key wrench things place in one of the holes of the belt you can pry it to the screw hole it supposed to over. I left the L key wrench there and with the help of my family I was able to screw some of the screws. After that the rest were easy. Just make sure not use L key wrench that’s meant for screwing the screws( there’s two of them.)

My girls are still getting used to this new concept. One showing more confidence than the other but bribing them with treats goes a long way. The hardest part of the assembly was the walking tread, easier to turn the treadmill on its side to get enough leverage to secure the two ends to each other. Of course, if you have someone helping you, the easier it would be. Using the brake while they are learning is a must for me, it prevents them from moving too far to the back edge and losing their footing. Slowly they're learning to continue to walk. All-in-all, the girls are excited to get on it and walk for a little bit.

All in all a good treadmill, I should've ordered the next size up. It did come with one spot that was chipped. Much quieter than I anticipated. One of the reasons that I purchased this was it was supposed to be "quiet" It still is loud there is no making a slatmill not loud. I like the breaking function. It is not a stop all but it is nice to adjust the speed, the digital screen is also really great to track your pup. The cons; it is not very heavy, and slides on tiles. So a rug that is large and sturdy would be best. There are some pretty serious pinch points on this track, I am working out how to carpet the treads so that it covers these areas. It has pinched me 2x and almost got my dog.
